Bridge crashing with MacOS 10.8 Mountain Lion (solved with Onyx)

Upgraded to Mountain Lion. Photoshop CS5 works perfectly as does Illustrator CS4, but while Bridge opens, the moment you try to scroll it crashes. I have rebooted my computer, cleared the cache, checked to make sure I had no legacy plug-ins, tried with both OpenGL on and off and still, crash...crash... crash...

I am at my wits end as I have to use Bridge very often, as in needed it today. I just don't know where to go from here and I have scoured the internet for a solution. Lots and lots of people with the same problem, but no solutions.

What does the crash report say?

Just the usual about Bridge having quite unexpectedly and a lot of gobbledegook that means nothing to me unfortunately. Attaching a screen capture - not sure how well you can see it.

The gobblety-gook means a lot to us programmers, though.

Bridge calls the OS to plot an icon, and the OS fails, in an odd way.

The Bridge team will have to investigate and see if this is something they can address, or if it's yet another new OS bug in 10.8 that Apple will have to fix.

LOL - Yes I am sure it does, and thank goodness for that from us non-programmer types. I am taking it as well, correct me if I am wrong, that there is nothing that I myself can actually do to rectify this situation - Just have to be patient, monitor the relevant websites and hope that the fix comes sooner rather than later?

Unfortunately now that PS did away with the automate PDF option and creating a PDF can only be done for us with CS5 through the Bridge, I will have to resort to exporting my images to Keynote and creating my pdf's in there. As they say these days - "It is what it is."

Thank you very much for such quick responses and at least I know now that it is probably pointless sitting here frustrated not knowing what to do, since apparently getting it to work is out of my hands.

Back to the Olympics - Thanks again.

Update:
Did some more research and ran Onyx. Everything including Bridge now works. FYI to anyone with a similar problem.

OK, so the OS was crashing due to something cached that it didn't like, or something wrong in the filesystem structure.
Wish we knew what it was - Apple really needs to get some of those bugs isolated and fixed.

But good to know that using a cleaner like Onyx helped.

I was also hoping that it would fix my empty typeface list in Mail - no such luck. Still, that I can live with, Bridge... not so much :)

Thank you Chris.

Few days ago I upgraded my Imac from 10.5.8 to 10.8.1 and I have PS5 that crashes when I want to print on canon MP640.
I re-install PS5 again but same. Either on "Page Setup" or just "Print" it crashes.

You have a different product, a different version, and a completely different crash -- please post to a new topic.
