Bridge/ACR thumb rebuild

Feature request:

Please allow an option in Bridge to allow/disallow the rebuild of thumbnail/preview images if ACR changes. This should be a user selected option and remain in effect until the option is changed.

When Bridge adds images to the cache file system, the representation of the image is an accurate reflection of the image at the time of insertion. This is the "digital asset" representation and should not be modified until the user actively modifies the image (such as editing in ACR).

A new version of ACR has no "right" to change the representation of the previously recorded digital asset unless the user specifically wants the change to be made. The user should be in control of the modification of his digital assets - not an arbitrary decision of the software.

Any use of the preview images is purely for quick browsing purposes and the subtle changes that could be induced by ACR will not in any way affect the ability of the user to properly browse through a given directory. If ACR chooses to modify the preview images for a directory, significant unnecessary processing will hinder the user's desire for quick browsing and editing because of the background processing of preview rebuild.
