Using Batch Rename in Bridge CC 2018, with Sequence Number set to One Digit, and more than ten items selected (accidentally) causes Bridge to freeze.
I don't know that this is new to 2018, but it's not that rare a mistake for me to make, and though it never handled it gracefully, I don't recall it failing so disastrously in the past.
It's not much more than a nuisance (have to force quit Bridge), but it's clearly not intended behavior.

I always give myself an extra digit than I think I'm likely to need since I do save these as presets, but I just tried selecting 11 images, telling it one digit starting with 1, and no crash. Not even any hesitation. It just cycled around when it had done with 1-9, as I would expect. Are all your filenames going to be identical if it batch renames and has to cycle around? I would have to specifically create files with identical filenames in order to test that, and I'd rather not go to the trouble if that isn't what's happening to you.
Bridge gets twitchy when you update, so if you're not at risk of naming files in a batch identically, it could be your preferences are corrupt and need to be purged.

Hi joel_sigerson_4214320,
Adobe Bridge circles around when batch renaming more than 10 files with sequence number set to single digit.
Request you to try with another set of files and check if the issue persists.
Also, please share bridge.log from the following location for us to investigate.
C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CC 2018\Bridge.log
~/library/ApplicationSupport/ Adobe / Adobe/Bridge CC 2018/Bridge.log
Thanks for your patience.
Regards,
Abhishek Seth.

It's not cycling though, it's getting stuck. When I open the folder in Finder, the offending files are still sporting their temporary names, Bridge is frozen (and using 100% CPU) and that's the way it stays.
This happened twice today. I'm working on another system tomorrow and I'll check it again on that machine.
I assume you mean BridgeLog.log - how do I share that with you here?

That makes sense. Hopefully your log will show the Bridge folk enough to figure out what might be causing the hang.
