Bridge: 'Not Responding'/freezes (Win 8.1)

After a recent rebuild and reinstallation of Photoshop CS6 running on Windows 8.1, Bridge now freezes and displays 'Not responding' for prolonged periods - 30 seconds before carrying out selected actions. Photoshop operates fine but Bridge is now very frustrating to use. Before reinstallation with exactly the same set up everything was as it should be. I have tried re-reinstallation with no improvement. Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you update Bridge after reinstalling it to make sure it was completely up-to-date?

That is strange if you were on the same system with the same OS. In that case, the one thing that has changed is you're generating preview caches as you navigate around.

HI Jeffrey it is strange, and I can make no sense of it. I have purged the cache, trashed the preferences, done whatever I can think might get rid of the issue, but it still persists. Which is why I am asking for some positive advice that will resolve and restore my workflow. Any further help still greatly appreciated.

Have you changed any utilities? (e.g. file scanners, anti-virus, etc)

Have you tried running in SafeMode to eliminate possible conflicts?

HI again, Thanks for your response.
I haven't changed any utilities, I haven't tried SafeMode but I will and check out that possibility.
To explain, I installed an SSD as my main drive for my system and day to day data, did a clean reinstall of Windows 8.1 and reinstalled all my software, which is when this issue with Bridge arose. So essentially the system and software I am running is all but identical to the previous set up, where Bridge and I worked quite happily together!! But alas no more. As I said previously, Photoshop is fine although Mini bridge is obviously hampered by Bridges problems. All this makes it hard to understand what may have occured and how to deal with it. It has put a real dent in my workflow. Thanks.

I have now also tried running Bridge in SafeMode but the issue is also happening in precisely the same way.

Hi Jeffrey
Unfortunately I am no further ahead with this particular problem. Is there any chance of getting any more input to come up with a solution to the problem?
Thanks.
