Bridge: My image folders are not working after the Catalina upgrade

My three standard image file folders now have a downward pointing arrow over the file icon, clicking to open the folder gives the message that there is nothing to display. The folders are accessible using Finder which then opens the image file in ACR as normal, it works but inconvenient as I use Bridge as my first line when making my culling decisions.

I haven’t installed Catalina yet, but if I understand it correctly, Catalina requires apps to get permission to read/write certain folders (or even any folder). Maybe you need to give Bridge permissions and you haven’t done that yet.

Johan, thanks for the reply and please excuse a question from a very front end user of this program, could you point me in the direction of where i need to go to grant these permissions ? I have been photographing for many years transitioning from film to digital around 2000, the computer learning was a very steep curve and to be honest I have stayed away from delving too deep into the settings, at 73 i just hope things work !

I am using Lightroom CC on a Mac.  Since installing Catalina I cannot down load pictures from my Cannon 50 D camera.

Hi,

We have fixed this in v10.0 which will be released early next month. If you need early access to this release, you can sign up for the prerelease program from https://adobeprerelease.com under NDA.

Select Adobe Bridge. Once we approve your request, you will be able to download v10.0 (choose the latest drop).

Thanks,

Teja

Teja many thanks for the reply, I have applied and am now waiting a decision.
One further query ? My Nikon D850 produces NEF files of approx 93 Mb as shown in the camera and in Finder, when opening the file in ACR the information shown in blue beneath the image preview shows the file size to be approx 45 Mb, I have looked but cannot see anyway to allow the correct file size to be shown, I may have missed something

ACR does not show you the file size in MBytes, it shows you the file size in Mpixels.
