In CS4 Bridge deselects an image if I  label it. Not if I 'unlabel' it. Never used to do this.

I can't go back as far as CS4 anymore, but I don't recall that ever happening. Usually when something odd like that occurs, it's time to hold down Cmd/Ctrl-Opt/Alt-Shift while clicking on the app icon to launch it, and deleting all settings to start with fresh preferences.

You're welcome. I'm glad it's just Bridge being Bridge, since that's usually pretty easy to fix.

My workflow is completely dependent upon features much more recent than that, but I agree. If it does everything you need—well, people made fabulous images before PS even had layers. I knew someone who stuck with PS 4 for ages, and was highly creative. Of course, I also thought he had to be creative since he refused to upgrade to make his life easier. LOL But as long as it runs and you own it, only you can make the right decision about upgrading or not.

And now you know what to do if Bridge starts to act weird again. It's usually either that or the cache—and usually with the cache it simply slows to a crawl or doesn't preview what it ought to preview.
