Bridge CC: Error Message

Hi. I downloaded a backup app for macOS called ChronoSync, and created a synchronization task of backing up one folder on my Mac to another folder on an external hard drive. When the task finishes Adobe Bridge shows a pop-up window saying, "Operation could not be completed." I reached out to the developers of ChronoSync and they said they've gotten some reports of the same problem from other users but do not know why Adobe Bridge is doing this. They advised me to ask Adobe, who then told me to post here. Any ideas?

Hey, Joe. Great news for you. Thanks to David's advice, I looked into it and saw in the Options panel, under Special File/Folder Handling, "Freeze File System" was turned on. I turned it off, ran a test sync repeatedly, and Bridge didn't give me any error message!

Just be aware that if you make changes while Chronosync is running, those changes may not be copied over. Cache files aren't a problem because they are quasi-temporary anyway.

Glad you got it sorted out.

Thanks Dan and David, I've unchecked the Freeze File System now so hopefully this will sort the error.

My guess is that Chronosync locks files as it performs a backup so they aren’t changed, and this affects Bridge creating its cache files. You might poke around through logs for both programs to see if there are any clues.

Yep, there was a preference that was freezing my system before and after the backup task. After I disabled it and ran the sync again, no more error message from Bridge. Thanks a lot, David!
