Bridge CC: Alternate keyboard shortcut for Full Screen Preview when file is a movie

Currently, using the Spacebar is shared by several actions:
  • Full Screen Preview if the file is a still image
  • Play Video (in Preview tab) if the file is a movie
  • Play/Pause Slideshow if in Slideshow mode.

It would be great to have an alternate keyboard shortcut to view movie files in Full Screen Preview without having to use View > Full Screen Preview.

It would also be amazing to have an alternate keyboard shortcut to play and pause movie files while in Slideshow mode.

(On a side note, playing and pausing movie files only seems to work in Review Mode if four or fewer files are selected for review.)

Many people asked for years to let users to configure their own shortcuts in Bridge like that is for ex. in Photoshop. For some reason Br team doesn't want us to have this feature. If you are on Pc you can use X-Mouse Button Control for this.

I run macOS and Windows.  Thank you for the tIp about X-Mouse Button.

On the macOS side, Quick Look and Cover Flow have kept the need for Bridge for viewing purposes at a minimum (although, even those could improve when it comes to movie files); however, with the deprecation of QuickTime I find myself using Bridge on the Mac side much, much more.  On Windows, I'm not sure I could do without Bridge.

I'm guessing that this would require some type of reworking of the code.  If Spacebar were to activate Slideshow, it would be great to have J, K and L control playback in the same way that those keys function in Premiere Pro.

Bugs have been filed with the Bridge team on movie playing behavior. I'm not sure what they are going to fix but at least they are aware of the issue.

Found a macOS workaround!

I tried setting a custom Shortcut using the macOS X Keyboard System Preferences Pane for the Full Screen Preview menu item in Bridge and it works (at least under Mac OS X Sierra 10.12.6) without disrupting using the Spacebar to view still images.

I was a little worried that it would override or some how adversely affect using Spacebar as expected with still images; however, it doesn't.
