bridge does not open nef files

Today I reverted ACR from version 12.3 (which is unusable by my standards) to an earlier version. Since then Bridge does not read my .NEF files from Nikon D7100 any more. I re-installed this Bridge version from scratch - no improvement. I still have an older version of Bridge installed, which opens the file as it always did, so the files are OK ( did open the files before I installed the previous Camera Raw version!). But this old version is enormoulsy cpu-consuming, 2020 was better. That is why I want the old version working again as it did some hours ago: opening D7100 NEF-files

Yesterday...ACR worked the perfect way...Now Adobe wants us to belay our thoughts about a change in which we had no say...
Why the change was made I don''t know I couldn't say They did something wrong now I long for yesterday, Oh I believe in yesterday.

I have had almost an identical experience after updating to PS 2020.I hated it for a number of reasons but mostly because  could not open images from Bridge into ACR.  I got tech help from Adobe and had my 2018 version reinstalled .  Bridge still would  not open Camera even though the tech guy installed an earlier version of Bridge (10.1.0.)  This all took place during two lengthy ( 2-3 hours each time) of "Screen Share" . I have just finally had the issue resolved via a third tech help session with Adobe . The solution was to reinstall ACR 9.1. Hope this helps.

You can't mix and match versions. Pick one and use that.

I have reverted too - currently rocking PS 21.2, Bridge 10.0.4 and ACR 12.2.1  and all is working smoothly.  I am really hoping that ACR 12.4 is soon, because I liked the local HSL adjustment, that was all.
