blurry preview in bridge opens in photo shop looking sharper

a disturbing thing just happened i am looking at a batch of photos and thought i was looking at a blurry image when i open it in photoshop it looks better than the preview ..

Are your render settings High Quality and are you certain Bridge had finished generating previews? You say you were looking at a batch of photos, and Bridge will display a low-res thumbnail (black thin border) before it gets to the High Quality display. It's not always the fastest kid on the block.

I've noticed through the years that Bridge doesn't bother with all the complicated and processor-heavy calculations to "properly" resize a thumbnail for display.  It just throws up a "quick & dirty" render so you can get some idea what the image looks like.

You can have fast rendering, or you can have sharp.  Pick one.

I don't know that's all that true. Sure, at first, but Bridge seems able to make a pretty decent preview, and this is a stupid compressed JPEG screenshot. It's better for "real."
