I'm a photo retoucher, and love to use vector masks. The ability to blur vector masks is great, but I would love to be able to blur a mask 0.5 pixels.

The reason is, that for photographic work, a vector mask usually gives to harsh an edge, which tends to stand out, be it for a an adjustment layer or a normal layer. Blurring the edge 1 pixel is usually to soft, which again, can make the mask obvious. Half a pixel is the sweet spot, where the edge of the mask matches the softness of a 'sharp' photograph.

To get around this, I find myself converting my vector masks to bitmap masks and using a gaussian blur of 0.5 px, losing the great flexibilty of vector masks in the process. I'd love it if I could just blur my vector masks at 0.5 pixels.

Cheers,

Jim
