Lightroom: Blue Screen with a large white cross while editing (brushing) in the develop module

I have a 27" iMac and have never had problems while editing in LR or PS, however, since the most recent update I have encountered several problems including a flickering blue screen while in the develop module. 

I have rebooted, updated, cleared the CMS and did everything I could think of while problem shooting, but it is definitely a LR problem. 

Really need help as this is affecting my workflow. :(

Turn off the option to use the GPU in the performance section of the LR preferences.

Does this happen with all raw files and JPEGs or only certain ones? Are you using any custom profiles?

I don't think you got this because of the MacOS upgrade, my lightroom has been doing it for weeks, even when I toggle the GPU option and that was on El Capitan.

Hi Steven,

We try to reproduce the issue you are facing. Can you help us by providing some more details?

As Jeff suggested, is there any particular image format(specific RAW files/JPEG) or usage of custom profiles? If possible share few sample images on which you can reproduce this issue.

By the way what was the specific workflow you are doing? A video of your workflow also helpful to better reproduce the issue.

Hey Ganesh,

For me, it has been happening very intermittently on RAW Files (NEF). I will be using the brush tool to increase the exposure of the image background (primarily white background studio shots) and then all of a sudden, every mouse click creates a blue screen with the cross on it. As I let go of the mouse, the image is back, but as I am trying to make my adjustment, I can't actually see what I'm working on.

Like I said, it isn't every time I use Lightroom, just occasionally. If/when it happens again, I will take a screen recording of it.

When you disable Use Graphics Processor, do you restart Lightroom? The blue-screen with an x through it is pretty unique to graphics driver failure.

Mine used to do it when I applied fairly heavy editing and it would take a while to complete. If I tried to view the photo in the before and after, I would get that screen until it finished. I started clearing my edit history when I had finished also??

Run Onyx, Disk Warrior, jump on the 10.12.1 update coming next week. Try also doing a Safe Boot (hold Shift during startup). Try deleting com.adobe.Lightroom6.plist

Turning off the GPU in LR preferences WORKED. Prob was latest update 5.8. Blue screen is gone.
