Blue and Red Pixels in Photoshop Document

This has only happened a handful of times since updating to 2018, and each time a restart of PS results in the defect going away, but occasionally my image will be filled with blue & red pixels scattered about:

I don't know what produces this, but before the most recent instance I closed my laptop screen (going from three screens to two) shortly before. It did not cause anything immediately, though, and only showed up when I enabled a previously hidden layer. Save, close, restart, the pixels are gone.

I'm no expert and don't have time now to investigate but it sure looks like some kind of color clipping mask is enabled.  Good luck.

No, it's something that pops up randomly even on a single layer document

Another instance, you can see blue pixels suddenly appear when I go to change the brush size, and the center of the brush graphic turns magenta.
