Lightroom:

Better compare view. Two histograms at the same time (one for the left photo, one for the right photo) and to be able to see the light/dark clippings. A mini zoom when viewing at different zoom to 1:1.

Improve compare view:

IMO the compare view needs improvement. It is still very simple, but with a few improvements would be much more versatile and powerful:

1 -. View at the same time histograms for each photo. Without having to go by clicking either to compare histograms.
2 -. Show highlight and shadows clippings without having to go to the Develop module.
3 -. Possibility to show ISO, focal length, aperture, time ... values in the gray bar.

Things that already are in LR and easy to add to this useful view.

Enhanced compare view.

I feel that the current compare view can more usable and powerful. It's a tool that I use a lot (for example, to compare which shot of the group is better focused, which has better histogram, are shadows or highlight clipped...).

This is my idea of make better the compare view:

Before->
compare view _1

After->
compare view_2

**Grid mode: two-thirds rule, aureus space, aureus spiral, aureus diagonal, grid...

Good idea. And if you'll forgive a piggy-back (while we're talking about an improved compare view), please have an option to normalize size - it's not uncommon to want to compare two copies of the same photo, which have different sizes, and sometimes a normalized view (both at same apparent size) would be preferable - thanks.
