Lightroom Classic: Better import from iOS

When importing pictures from iPad/iPhone, they are sometimes not put in the correct folder(s).
From what I understand out of a recent chat conversation with you, an iOS device is not seen as a storage device like an SD card or similar. Therefor the functionality with automatically renaming files, creating subfolders and copying the files to the correct folder does not work. Often pictures from one date are stored in a folder for a different date. Even if the pic's have been taken only a minute apart. This is of course very annoying to say the least, and also cause of a lot of extra work.
My suggestion is that you make import from iOS (I have no clue as to how it works for android) devices the same as for other storage devices. Using Win Explorer you can see there are different folders, like any other hard drive on your computer. These should be able to be utilized.

You must logically file in folders by shooting date, then collect your photos by project in collections and so everything will be fine ....

LR Classic   define in the module import   classify in yyyy / yyyy-mm-dd and also define in the preference of LR Classic which photos arriving by synchronization are classified according to the same scheme, then you will classify them easily by project.

Importing directly from any phone does not really work properly in LR, on Windows at least. This is true for Android as well as iPhone. And it was true in Picasa, too. Your best bet is to copy all the images to a temporary directory on your computer, and then import to LR from there using copy or move. There are lots of message threads about this problem, and I don't expect a fix ever. Copying in bulk to a local disk is probably faster anyway.

So far I've imported the pic's from iCloud to a local folder on my computer. Unfortunately that also changed the careation date to the date of import instead. Will try to import directly from iPad to local folder later
