Lightroom: Before/after setting not retained after using Crop overlay tool

Lightroom:
- Develop module
- Working in before/after view
- Switch to "Crop overlay" tool
- After exiting "Crop overlay" the develop module does not retain the before/after setting that was in place prior to swithcing to "Crop overlay"

Before/after setting should be more permanent as this is my preferred way of working. Having to switch every time after doing angle corrections gets frustraiting. As lightroom is a very workflow optimized tool this is my number one gripe.

Lr5's "before" state retention is so flaky, that I almost always re-select "before" before every compare (even when I know it hasn't (or shouldn't have) changed) - never had to do that in previous versions. In my case, it's not just the crop overlay tool which causes Lr to forget previous "before" state - don't know what all...
