And after an other message apear "because the default printer could not be opened". And it's impossible to print any document... I have already change default printer, add a printer pdf, no result...

I just started having this problem yesterday. I get an error message like the one above, and I also get "Because the default printer could not be opened." I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Elements, changing the default printer in the control panel to something else, updating Elements, printing different files in Elements (non work, jpg, psd, nothing). I have a Canon ip3600 series, and Elements printed from it two days ago. I even managed to get an Adobe tech person who didn't have any other ideas (the call got disconnected).

I also uninstalled the printer and re-installed the printer. It didn't help. I'm quite frustrated with this!! I need to be able to print from Elements to the color printer, otherwise I'll try to get my money back... Any help is appreciated!

Dec, 2016: Don't give up hope! I got and downloaded a new driver for my Canon Pixma, then tried a JPEG -- NB: with the printer plugged into the computer, not using WiFi. It printed!

But when I tried a TIFF not plugged in . . . it failed again. Will keep looking.

I bought a Canon ix6850 and cannot print to it or  to one-note or pdf printer. It worked perfectly with Canon ix6500 last week.
