Photoshop: Batching actions - Ability to target only a group of tabbed images

I’m a big fan of Photoshop actions! Sometimes I have many documents open and I want to run an action, but not to all of them. As a way to leverage Photoshop’s tabbed windows, it would be lovely to be able to target a specific tabbed group of documents. I envision a check box within the Batch dialog box that would let me target only the active tabbed group.
What do you think?

Thanks,
Bruce

Wrong. You gave away a great idea. You should have sold it. Now Adobe will believe that all of us are suckers. STOP GIVING AWAY YOUR MONEY MAKING IDEAS!  Make an application that incorporates your ideas. DO YOU SEE ADOBE GIVE YOU ANYTHING FOR FREE? No.

Stop. Think. Why do you want to help them improve their product, and get nothing in return?

You can already do this with a script. File > Scripts > Load files into Stack... is an example (add open files command and then remove the documents you don't want to process from the list). If you're a script writer, you could leverage the code from this script to create your own or ask someone that knows scripting to create one: https://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop/photoshop_scripting

Hey, Jeff! Thanks for the response. I have worked with people who can script Photoshop and I envy their ability, but I simply haven't had the time yet to learn how to do so effectively. Actions, for now, are where it's at with me, so I'm most interested in seeing Photoshop improve its functionality.

Loading working files with many layers into a layer stack will flatten my layers, which would not be helpful. Applying something as simple as a save/close action or one with a hundred steps to one particular tabbed group would be helpful.

I have many more ideas about how Photoshop could work with multiple workspaces, but I don't get too many responses on this forum!

Thanks,
Bruce
