batch straighten + keyboard shortcut for the "auto straighten' button in crop tool mode

After hitting "R" to select an image and go into crop mode, it would be nice to use a keyboard shortcut instead of clicking the 'auto' button.  (maybe an "option-R" to do it?)

Also when I try to batch straighten a bunch of images (all with clearly defined horizon lines), it never seems to get it right.  Since some cameras (like the Sonys) have a built-in level display, is there a way to use that information to help straighten images? (or is that info not written into the metadata of the photo?)

I'm pretty sure that level display is not in the metadata.
