Bridge/Photoshop: Batch resize photos with an option to keep images' aspect ratios the same

We need a way to batch resize images and have the option to keep the aspect ratios the same. Since Premiere can't work with larger images without constantly crashing, there needs to be a way for Photoshop/Bridge to resize the images with this option so we do not have to resize each image separately.

I second that request. Only work around is to first load each photo as a layer than batch each layer to individual photos.

I do that in photoshop/bridge all the time with a script (what photoshop calls an "action").

Nice. What's the script? This would still be very helpful as an included feature within Bridge and/or Photoshop since editing with large images in Premiere is basically impossible.

It's pretty simple:

1.  Have an image open in Photoshop.

2.  In Photoshop Actions, press the "record" button to create an action.

3.  Resize your image to the parameters you want.

4.  Press the "Stop" button in Actions, Close and save the action.

You can run this Action on single images in photoshop, or on batches from Bridge.

If you're a command-line monkey, ImageMagick also has a very rich set of scriptable resize functions.

> that's what Image Processor Pro is for...>

Which is nice, but I do think it would be nice not to have to launch PS and run it through PS in order to do this. And not have to learn to write scripts for it either. Just one of the many ways Bridge could be a hub for working with multiple images—from resizing to printing and beyond.  '-} I know. . . I'm a dreamer. LOL

Agreed. This should be an included feature, especially since their NLE requires you to resize hi-res photos in order to use them.

Sure they can. And they all launch Photoshop. I think that's what we're trying to point out. We can't do other things in Photoshop while this sort of thing runs in Bridge in the background. I do realize Bridge has a lot more work to do before it can even begin to approach this issue, but it would be nice to have them start to think about it, and not build a new and improved Bridge that makes it super difficult to add this sort of feature to.
