I have a document open. There is a background 'layer'. I place a PSD file into the document. I add the photo filter adjustment layer. The background 'layer' is now tinted.
This has not happened in the past and from the tutorials I watched, should not be happening now.

Thank you for your help.

The reason you are seeing the tinting is due to "Preserver Luminosity" being checked in the Photo filter properties panel. If you check that background layers will no longer be tinted.
