PHOTOSHOP - Annoying Auto zoom when I create a new artboard

Every time I make a new artboard photoshop zooms to fit that artboard. When I'm working I'm always zoomed out far enough to see a few artboards and some empty margin space around my artboards. When I make a new artboard it is because I want a copy of it to make changes and progress my designs. Before I can do that I need to move it away from overlapping the original artboard. This means the next action after copying is to now place it in and around the context of my other artboards. Zooming in is just a hindrance to this process. If anything it would be more useful to zoom out but I would suggest the zoom is simply not effected by copying an artboard.

Thanks
