If your someone like myself who has a ton of layers and doesn't like to name each and every individual layer while in a flow I think it would be a great quality of life addition if photoshop could auto name certain layers for you.

For example if I set a layer to OVERLAY i always wished photoshop could change the name of the layer to "Overlay 01" or something rather than naming it as an example the standard "layer 23".

Or if your layer is in a group and the group is called (Stars), maybe there can be an option to autoname a layer in that stack to Stars01, Stars02, Stars03, ect. Or if you make an blending mode in that stack and set it to overlay it could auto name to Stars03-Overlay for example

These are just examples, but I fill the ability to autoname, would be a huge time saver for people who have hundreds of layers and general photoshop quality of life experience.

This might make for a cool script that listens for new layers and blend mode changes and names after a user specified delay... I have found that any autochanging of layer names totally breaks any recorded actions so having it delayed or togglable would be key.

This is such a small thing but would give such a big reward for artist more than a new filter update or something in my opinion because layers are the foundation of the program. Working with a lot of layers can be simplified
