Attribute slices to layers & group layers

Feature request: Allow slices to be attributed to layers & group layers.

Use Case: I work on user interface designs wherein i will nest all the elements for one panel of the app into a given group layer. In turn a given group layer will contain all the elements of that panel in a nested and well ordered structure.

I do this primarily to keep track of everything. I can emulate buttons and other animated actions behaviour as well as quickly isolate content from other image assets or hide everything else in order to slice things up quickly.

Feature: This is where the feature comes in. If I could associate slices with the layers or group layers they are attributed to than i would not have to continually recreate slices over and over and over. Slices could show / hide in two ways. First by whether the tool, or menu option has selected it and IF the layer it is attributed is visible or not.

When managing large UI projects it is helpful not just to keep an order to the thousands of elements on the canvas but an order to the slices that will likely receive major or minor modification in the future. I already use the 5 fields in slice options to retain the file names of different button states as well as in a layer or group layers description.

Another photoshop.com contributor suggested copy / paste for slices. I think this is a brilliant request and could dovetail well in the type of work efficiency I'm getting at with this feature.
