Photoshop: Ability to attach shapes to a path

I would like to be able to attach a vector shape (or series of shapes) to a path, in the same way that text can be attached today.
I would also like to be able to move the shape along the path and for the shape to follow if the path is transformed.
All of this works for text today but not for vector shapes

Note - This is different to stroking with a brush which results in pixels on a layer rather than movable vectors.

Thanks
Dave

You can already do that in Indesign (not Illustrator, though, as far as I know) with anchored objects .
https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/anchored-objects.html

That is not intended to dispute the validity of the Feature Request but it may serve as a work-around for the time being.
Edit: And I suspect that if something can already be achieved in one CC application the necessary resource allocation to implement the feature in another CC application may not be deemed justified.

Thanks Christoph,
You are absolutely correct in that you can achieve this using other applications - but for those using a single app (or the popular photography plan) that option would not be open.
There is also the view that thinks if it is feasible in one app - how much can be ported to another - but I am not an Adobe programmer :-)
Thanks again
