I'd love to see support added for live photos.  They really are a fantastic feature for pictures.  Especially if you have young kids.  Google Photos supports them, so it seems to not be locked down to Apple being able to support them only.

Hi Rick,

Which version of Lightroom are you using?
It should work normally on 6.12. There shouldn't be any issue with import of live photos.

The automatic upload discard the movie portion of the photo.  If you extract the photo and movie file and import them they show up as two separate files.

I came here to ask the same question. I love Adobe products and their design and actually considered switching to Lightroom CC. However, Live Photos is something that I have come to really care about and would really like to see better support for them in Adobe products.

Right now, I don't see any point in switching from Apple Photos to Lightroom CC. Apple Photos is just way better in any way over the new Lightroom CC and additionally comes free with macOS.
