Lately, when I use the vignette blur effect and then try to save he photo the app crashes. This is a relatively new problem but is very upsetting because that is my favorite effect to use. It only happens when choose that effect. It was working fine until about 2 weeks ago.

Any ideas?

Which application are you using?

What version?

What OS and version of the OS?

I'm running Photoshop Express for iOS Version 2.0.2.754046 on my iPad (Ver. 4.3.5)

On the same iOS version on my own iPad, I can't reproduce any issue, even with images of relatively large pixel dimension. It is strange from a problem like this to suddenly crop up.

While iOS is supposed to clear unused programs from memory (RAM), sometimes this doesn't happen smoothly and the amount of free memory reported to our app isn't 100% accurate. If you reboot your device and go straight to Photoshop Express's Vignette feature, does the issue persist? Maybe something about the app got corrupted--does reinstalling the app help?

If that doesn't help, then let me ask is this with new images recently imported to the device, or does it also occur with images that were previously working fine? If they are new images, can you say how they were imported to the device -- camera kit or iTunes sync?

I have reinstalled the program and rebooted the device but the problem is still occurring. I was able to use the feature just now on some old pictures. When it started happening with the newer pictures I was right in the middle of editing pics from a single download...worked on one and the next it didn't. The little timer spins around when I hit save and then the screen goes black and I'm out of the app.

I have always transferred with a camera kit.

Very frustrating!

I'm tried some relatively high res pics imported from another camera via the Apple Camera Kit too, but still can't reproduce the crash. What camera created your photos? Maybe I can locate similar images to try.

FYI, in the mean time, I have one other suggestion: try importing your photos into iTunes, and them sync them to your device. Plug in your iPad, and in iTunes select the device and then open the Photos tab; ensure Sync Photos from points to your photos' storage location on your desktop. iTunes automatically downsamples the images it syncs to your device, so they don't take up as much room. Photoshop Express may be able to work with the iTunes-synced versions more easily.

2 different cameras...Nikon Coolpix S4000 and Nikon D90...both very produce very high res photos.

Tried the iTunes sync and still not having any luck.

Would you be willing to send me some example photos to try the problem if I contacted you offline?
