Lightroom Classic: Anyone else having issues with "Don't Import Suspected Duplicates" not working?

Even when selected in the import settings, the "Don't Import Suspected Duplicates" no longer works after upgrading to the newest CC 2015.6 version. Restarting Lightroom and the computer don't solve the issue. With this setting checked, Lightroom now ignores images which have been previously imported and imports them anyways with a -2 suffix, [e.g. IMG_8315-2]  I've tried this on two different computers, one of them not mine, and it is happening with that instance of Lightroom as well. Is anyone else else having these issues?

Another thing that happens, at least on both Macs I tested is that when you import images, and choose a folder to import to, the next time you go to import images, it no longer remembers the last folder you used to import. For me this folder is the top of my archive so that I can make subfolders under that main folder, etc.

Is anyone else else having either of these issues?

Stephen,
I am not able to reproduce both the issues.

- After you select Import, do you see both images (original & duplicate) in the Import Grid view? Ideally, only one of the images should be enabled to import.

- Could you please expand the Destination location and see if it correctly recognizes the previous Import location?

Thanks,
Sunil

Stephen,
We could reproduce the second issue you mentioned. Lightroom "remembers" the destination folder. It, however, doesn't display the full directory structure. We are fixing the issue.

Thanks,
Sunil

Hi,
I am also having this Problem.

I usually take pictures with my One Plus 3 Phone (Android Oreo OS) and then connecting it to Lightroom Classic (Win 10) for importing Pictures. Once i finish importing photos, in my Lightroom classic, by pressing the "Backspace" i remove some of the Photos from the catalog that are identified as improper.

Then, next time when importing, Lightroom Classic doesnt prevent importing the image that i imported previous time and then removed.

My expectation is, Lightroom should store the image file details  everytime it imports to PC irrespective of whether the image is preserved or removed from the catalog so that it can prevent importing the same file again when "Dont import suspected duplicates" Option is selected.
