Hi Adobe Team,
as there are many crash reports since weeks for LR 7.3 - is there anything you can tell us that a solution is in progress and when a fix can be expected?
cloud customers are getting frustrated, any word letting us know that you are working on the problems would be really appreciated.
Best regards

When opening LR Classic, I get a pop up saying a new version is available but it doesn't say which version that would be. I'm on 7.2 and want to wait for 7.3.1. When I go to the CC app on my desktop, the LR Classic app has an "update" button, but there too it does not say which version you'll get if you press the "update" button.
What is the easiest way to know which version of LR is "Current"? (would be nice if the pop up in Classic indicated the version number it want's me to update to and if the CC app showed the version number, but that would probably take 10 minutes of coding)

Dan,
There is a drop-down button displayed with the Update.
Select it and then select Other Versions.
It will provide you with the latest version available.
Since you have installed 7.2, the latest version as of today is 7.3.
Thanks,
Sunil

Sven, I see a crash that you've submitted reports for as being fixed for the next update. Stay tuned.

7.3.1 was released earlier today and should be fixed. Install it and let us know if you are still seeing issues.

I am running LR CC 7.3.1 on the Win 7 Pro OS. I am seeing periodic crashes as reported by many other users. So far I cannot relate them to any specific action on my part but suffice it to say versions 7.3 and 7.3.1 are much less stable than was version 7.2.

I'm not seeing any crash reports submitted using the email address you've used to post here. See: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/submit-crash-reports.html

Hi Jeffrey, thanks for your question. In the instances I've experienced a "crash" what's actually happening is LR become unresponsive--an application hang. The screen grays out and the Wind 7 OS lifesaver comes up and never goes away. There is no opportunity to file an Adobe specific crash report. There are entries in the Windows application log. Here is one of a number I've captured just this morning:
Log Name: Application
Source: Application Hang
Date: 5/7/2018 10:39:25 AM
Event ID: 1002
Task Category: (101)
Level: Error
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer:
Description:
The program Lightroom.exe version 7.3.1.10 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.
Process ID: 21a0
Start Time: 01d3e62507f50710
Termination Time: 171
Application Path: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic CC\Lightroom.exe
Report Id: 7fe520dc-521d-11e8-8a3f-e03f497a36db
This has happened numerous times after updating to LR 7.3.1. The only way to terminate the hung program is to invoke the Windows Task Manager and end the program from there.
After playing around a bit one common thing I've been doing prior to a crash is downloading photos from my CF card in LR. The download seems to go well, but LR won't release the card so it can be safely ejected. Shortly after that happens the application hang occurs.
From what I've seen in the forums, many customers are experiencing similar issues--hangs or crashes as I've described here.
Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with to get this instability sorted out.

Same symptoms with Win10 v1709 16299.431 and LR 7.3.1. This has been going on for MONTHS. I talked with an Adobe "support" person who basically guaranteed that he had fixed the problem (latest graphics driver and lots of snooping in my system). That was true until I actually began using LR. Then same old problem. Over and over again. All day. I have work to do - I don't have time for this S**T!

Try this, it is might help temporarily. I've found that the LR hangs seem to happen after I've imported photos from my CF card (SD & USBs too). LR won't eject the card nor can the system do it safely because LR won't let go of it. So, I don't try to eject the card but rather shut down LR, then eject the card, then relaunch LR. I did this yesterday and then did quite a few image edits and adjustmentments without any hangs.
Hope this helps until a new fixed release comes along. There are quite a few reports of LR 7.3 and 7 3.1.1 crashes and hangs so this problem should be on Adobe's radar.

quick test of new release - easiest ways to reproduce crashes are fixed now. looking forward to see how long 7.3.1 now works w/o crashes. Thanks - still release of 7.3. was way tooooo early - Adobe mgmt. should learn from this experience and feedback of frustrated customers. Thanks to all official reps here who have to deal with us not being responsible for mgmt faults.
