using the alt-drag duplicate feature for multiple layers sometimes deselects a layer or two upon dragging, causing one or more of the layers to not be duplicated. i am using the latest version of Photoshop CC
EDIT: I should also add that this happens with 4 layers, and i am starting out holding shift before i alt-drag to keep the items aligned to an axis

Sounds like you're on Windows. Using a mouse, pen or tablet? Does this happen with all files or specific file/scenario. If you have a file with layer selections that consistently fail, sharing that file might be helpful to reproduce.

Also, how are you selecting the layers to drag.  SHIFT+click, right?  Which layers aren't being duplicated?  Last selected?  As Jeff asked, what kind of mouse, keyboard, pen, or tablet are you using?
