Photoshop CC 2018: Alt-drag brush resize not working with wacom

In the recent CC 19.0.1 I have issues with the alt-drag brush resize option. It works fine on my mouse but using a wacom tablet does not work.

There used to be a work around for this using a PSUserConfig file. But this appears to not work anymore with the new Photoshop.
I really need this fixed, help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Howdy Wanja,

This isn't my area, but I checked with the guy who is the expert.  This appears to be a bug MS introduced with the latest release.

"Awork around until we do a permanent change is to use wintab gestalt or revertto previous win20"

Hope that helps,
David

It's a start :)
To revert I need to use the PSUserConfig file right?  The original instructions on implementing this file seems to not do anything anymore with this recent photoshop.
Could you confirm the situation here? As in, how do I use wintab gestalt in photoshop?

Thanks!

Howdy Wanja,

In answer to your questions, I was told: "File name needs to be exact and make sure the location is inthe current version number. Ps also needs to be relaunched after setting thegestalt."

Hope that helps,
David

Thanks for the help, but still can't get it to work, I tried turning off windows ink in the Wacom drivers as well, this used to be the right way to do it. But if I do so now I just lose all pressure sensitivity etc.

Is there some way to check if Photoshop is running in gestalt mode?

EDIT

Never mind, I fixed it. I named my file .txt but windows was hiding the extension so in fact it was named .txt.txt
Working now.

Hello Wanja and David,

Excuse me but I'm facing the same problem and I don't quite get how you guys solved it, could you please help me?

How do I get this PSUserConfig file and what do I do with it? Would it be what is discribed here by M Shaw https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1501276
Has the problem really been solved?

Thanks!

Mine too, for most part of the time. Sometimes it fails and goes back to only colorpick, but its ok.
I'm frustrated tho.
