Lightroom: Also exporting custom camera profiles with export as catalog to new computer?

In Lightroom, Since the "custom camera profile" settings change the image, when I do an "export as catalog..." that somehow this info(customer camera profile) should be carried along because you may be moving it to different computer.Or there should be an option to 'store camera presets with catalog'. BackgroundI had to "export as catalog..." my whole Lightroom from my iMac(at home) to my laptop so my wife and I can work while traveling. We have several custom camera profiles - required by Infrared cameras(DNG) to have larger whitebalance adjustment in Lightroom. But export as catalog does not move customer camera profiles and I'll admit I didn't think of it. All of the images change colors when I try to edit them. Now it is too late for me to try again as we are in NYC and the home computer is in Oregon.I was lucky to find my notes and recreate the profiles with "DNG Profile Editor" with the exact same name & settings and putting them inusername/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfilesI still hope this didn't mess things up.I guess to avoid this in the future that I will run 'Update DNG Preview & Metadata' and embed the camera profile into the DNG image of each of the 1000's of DNGs. (We have 2 different Infrared cameras that each require different customcamera profiles.

Good idea.

One thing - AdvancedColorEditor (plugin) can identify any photos using a camera profile that is not resident in Lightroom, among other things...

Also, the same problem exists if you've downloaded (or created your own) custom lens profiles.

Lightroom won't actually change the profiles being specified, it just silently displays the photo wrong, when specified profiles are not found.

Adobe: please change Lightroom code to notify the user of missing profiles.

My guesses:

* Nobody wants it to work the way it does.
* It would be very easy to remedy.

Obviously, it would be better still, to eliminate the likelihood of missing profiles in the first place.

I have a similar feature request which might be fixed with an easier, universal solution:

FEATURE REQUEST: Store copies of custom camera and lens profiles inside the LR catalogue.

I frequently shoot tethered with my MacBook Pro, creating custom camera profiles based on the body, lens, and lighting I've photographed with on site. When I go back to my studio, I have to remember to copy the custom camera profiles I've created on the MBP to my Mac Pro so they are assigned when I open the LR catalog on the MP (LR usually assigns a default camera profile when my custom profile is missing). Storing the assigned camera profiles in the catalogue and having them copied to the Camera Raw profile folder on the new computer automatically would make LR editing a lot easier. Also for big catalogues that contain lots of custom camera profiles, there is no easy way to know which profiles are assigned to the RAW files and hunting them down so they can be copied to a different computer with the catalog would be a really tedious undertaking. I haven't used LR Mobile so perhaps there is some implementation of embedding custom camera profiles across devices.

I realize it might be possible to use an aliased Camera Raw profile dropbox folder to store the profiles in the cloud, but I worry about those times when the internet isn't available on a shoot.
