PHOTOSHOP: Allow vector lines not to be closed (and to be saved as custom shapes)

In illustrator I can create lines that are not closed in to form a shape. This allows me to create open shapes and stroke single lines.

As an example of what could be done:

With the new trend of outlined glyphs, this is crucial. The glyph libraries available with these kinds of icons only allow them to be used at a single size because they have a set "stroke" of 2 or 4px (figure 1). If you want to make them smaller or larger, you have to redraw the shape. So by allowing single lines to be stroked, I could create outlined glyphs and resize them and retain the stroke width.
