I'd love to see the ability to do a search for .jpg in Lightroom CC and see all the files in the associated folder that are that type. Currently it shows no results.

Additionally, it would be very convenient if you could automatically create separate folders for JPG and RAW when importing from a camera.

In Classic, just the Metadata Filters to search by file type, and on CC desktop, type extension:jpg into the search field.

Hi Mike,

In Classic CC, One can use Library Filter: Text to filter out based on file names.
In the text Popup select Filename and type [.JPG/.DNG] which will filter out files with that extension.

Thanks,
Bhargav

Thanks for this feedback! I see those functions now in Classic CC but no such thing in Lightroom CC. Hopefully this can be easily implemented in an update soon.

Thanks, however I just tried this in a folder with both raw and jpg files and it said that there are no results. I also tried adding a "." before jpg and that did not work either. Any ideas?

I am using Lightroom CC and not Lightroom Classic CC. This feature is functioning fine in Classic.

What kind of device Mike? It only works on the desktop version at the moment.

Could you try just the following in the Lr CC desktop app:
1. Type "extension:" in the search bar.
2. Wait for a suggestion popup to come up. This could take a couple of seconds.
3. The suggestion popup should have a list of extensions. You can select JPG from this list to filter files with .jpg extension.

Yep, that one's a work in progress! In the meantime, they're listed here: https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/lightroom-cc/using/organize-photos.html#search-filter-sort-photos
