Lightroom Mobile: Store Everything Locally as Smart Previews

I have been using Lightroom CC on the iPad for a while now. One function that I would like to see is the ability to save the entire catalogue as smart previews on the iPad just as you can on a mac. Even when I am in a reasonably fast wi-fi, editing photos on the iPad is slower than on the mac. Let’s say I import 30 pictures from an SD card to the iPad and into Lightroom. Lightroom then seems to delete the original files immediately and when I open a photo for editing, it first needs to download it from the cloud before I can make any edits. While this doesn‘t take very long for a single picture (1-2 seconds), it does add up considerably over time and slows down the work flow.

I read that there is a workaround for this issue. You can create an ‘all photos’ album and set it to download smart previews. However, I would like to see this as normal function within Lightroom on the iPad. Will this feature come in future updates or is there a good reason why we will not see this?

I am looking forward to hearing opinions on this.

That option already exists. In the Lightroom for iPad settings, go to Cloud Storage& Sync. Check the box for 'Only Download Smart Previews'. Now go to an album and tap the three dots behind the name. Check the 'Store Locally' option.

Thanks for your reply, Johan! I appreciate it.
I know that you can store an album locally. However, I would like to see a function that allows me to store the entire catalogue locally. I would like to have all my pictures available as smart previews without always having to add them to an album first. In Lightroom CC on mac, this function exists (see screenshot, in German unfortunately).

Do you know if such a function will be available on the iPad?

Regarding your suggestion/workaround using the function to store an album locally: I feel like it would be a lot of work to always have to add newly imported photos to that album before having them available as smart previews on the iPad. Is there a way to automatically add pictures to an album once I import them to Lightroom? If yes, that could fix my problem for now.

However, I think it would still be nice to simply have the same check box available on the iPad as on mac os. I was assuming that would be the case when I switched to CC. Alternatively I could imagine a function that allows you to automatically save photos from a year or time period (let's say the last 6 months or all of 2019) as smart previews on the iPad. One main thing is that I don't want to have to take care of an album manually but would like to see some kind of automated way (either all pictures or a selected time period) to save smart previews on the iPad.

I am curious to hear your thoughts on this.
