If you ran LR on in Windows (not Mac) up until v8.4 a "bug" allowed you to hide filter controls while adjusting or moving them. In effect, this bug was really a feature - it allowed you to see the exact effect of, say, narrowing or widening the transition-area of a linear filter without the distraction of seeing the control itself (cf. https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/after-8-4-upgrade-cant-hide-while-dragging-adjusting-filter-controls-help )

Evidently few people were aware of this "bug" or I suspect there would have been a clamor when it was "fixed" - that's how useful I think it was.

There might have been other -seemingly- good reasons that Adobe "fixed" it - perhaps closing off keyboard interrupts results in marginally faster adjustments. If this is the case, perhaps Adobe could give us a choice in preferences.

It's too bad that people can no longer try this to see the impact.

I beseech Adobe - your bug was a feature! Please restore it!
