Sometimes i have several images in a hand-held series that are not perfectly aligned. I know i can EDIT AS LAYERS in PS and align them this way, but it would be convenient to be able to place 2 cross-hairs (like in PS: drag from top and left) to allow alignment. Thanks
I'm not sure what you're trying to align and for what purpose, but you can use the Develop module 'Reference View' mode to show the reference image and the one you want to align side-by-side. If that won't work please provide more details as to exactly what you're trying to do.
If the purpose is for HDR, the LR "Merge to HDR" tool (and many others) will automatically do minor alignment of images. I have always found this sufficient to align bracketed shots when my camera was set to automatic bracketing (i.e. in Aperture Priority mode, push hand hold shutter button and it fires off the bracket set using the burst - continuous - shoot mode). However, if you take photo 1, then manually adjust camera settings and take image 2, etc. the alignment offsets will probably be beyond the auto align capability of the Merge to HDR tool.
