Bridge: AIFF files don't preview

No preview for AIFF files in Bridge CC 2019.Why isn't this standard file format supported?

(problem exists on two Macs running OSX 10.13.6)

Bridge doesn't support Apple Lossless either (at least on Windows.) But note that even Apple is getting rid of AIFF support. iPhones no longer play AIFF files. The only format I see supported on Bridge with lossless encoding is WAV.
