After I zoom in using the shortcut key the brush tool and eraser tool act as the hand tool and move the canvas instead of drawing

I having the same issue this morning, trying to use the clone or healing brush. Once you zoom in past a certain point, using the tool just moves the whole image around (as if you were using the hand tool). I can only retouch in little spot movements..... any brush stroke moves the image. What OS are you using ? It is my Windows 10 machine having the issue...... and last night the machine did a windows update. Could this be a factor ?

Yes! Last night my Windows 10 updated when i shut it down and then this morning my photoshop was doing this crazyness. I'm sorry you're dealing with this too but I am also kinda glad its not just me going crazy or my tablet is broken or something!

Also good to know I'm not alone in this. Trouble is I don't know what to do about it now. It has rendered PS pretty useless to me..... and work is due ! :-(
Is there a way of reversing the updates the Microsoft made ?

I'm currently having the same issue since this morning! As an Artist, Photoshop is my everything! I've tried unstalling and reinstalling Photoshop, I even installed the older versions and they continue to have the same issue. I did find a small way to fix the problem but it comes with another annoying issue. If you turn off the Windows ink check box located in the calabriate section of the Wacom pen, it will fix the moving problem but you lose pen pressure. I'm losing my mind here.

I am trying to un-install the Windows updates that happened last night. Using instructions found here : https://www.windowscentral.com/how-uninstall-and-reinstall-updates-windows-10
Looks like two were installed, and it seems you have to get rid of each separately and do a restart for each. I'll report back when done.

Hi I had same problem and initially I Uninstalled KB4089848 and it resolved the issue however on my desktop it has installed KB4099989 and i'm back to same issue, when when zoomed in on canvas it will pan the canvas rather than draw with pencil or paint with the brush!

I have been in touch with Wacom and they have stated fix will have to come from Adobe or Microsoft!!

Please Adobe fix it as i don't think the problem is on Microsoft's radar

I've just uninstalled the windows security update from last night and PS seems to work ok now.
the first time round it seemed to work , but I also had issues with the image file "flashing" on screen. So did it again, and now all appears to be ok. Let me know if this work for you guys also ?

I'm new to uninstalling this stuff on a windows machine, but as far as I can tell, with the security updates you seem to be able to uninstall them. But the Microsoft Windows updates don't give me the option to get rid of them. I think there was an Adobe flash player update that installed last night also. I got rid of that too. My Photoshop is working normally now.

I have been having the exact same issue since the new update. I'm going to try uninstalling them tonight and see if that helps. Thank you guys for troubleshooting the issue and finding a solution!

Finally I realize I am not the only one with this issue! I spent all morning trying to find out if it was my Wacom, keyboard or Photoshop!!! I will try to uninstall later

I really don't think solution will happen anytime soon, it seems Microsoft have a lot of house keeping to make sure people who shelled out ridiculous cost of new surface are pacified. The rest of us are simply not considered as we are utilising non Microsoft hardware and software.

I must be getting punished for ditching my surface in favour of a wacom device lol!

Here's hoping Adobe step in with a fix!!

I just uninstalled windows update on my Cintiq mobile studio 16 and Photoshop is working fine , I also "pause " updates for 30 days I hope by then there is a solution

I have it working on my Mobile Studio Pro but I've disabled windows update service. (Really don't trust paused updates as when Microsoft pump out new critical updates for new quarter I'm sure they can push past paused updates)


Desktop is different beast though it just won't uninstall updates must be that cintiq mobile and mobile studio pro utilise tablet version of Windows 10 so different updates affect causing problems on full desktop.


My word this is becoming a real big mess with no one willing to take first step to remedy it!

Really considering buying a Mac again just to tide me over for coming months I predict it will take to resolve problem !

As Edgar mentioned earlier. This issue will come back to continually haunt us, unless we download the microsoft software that enables us to put a hold or 'pause' on certain problematic updates. My workstation re-insalled this crappy security update again tonight, and now I have to fix it all over again. The instructions for this are in the link I posted early on in this tread.

Can adobe escalate & push this issue through to Microsoft for a permanent fix please?  I'm using the wintab override method atm, but not sure if any benefits are lost using wintab over windows ink - and is hardly ideal that we have to resort to this.  This effects other tablets as well btw as I'm using two huion tablets and the issue occurs with both.
