The URL: https://redeem.licenses.adobe.com/get... did not/does not provide the serial number for Photoshop CS6 when the redemption code is entered. Instead it provides this message:
You're all set.
You have successfully redeemed Photoshop CS6.
A serial number is not required at this time. To get started, simply download/install the product, sign-in with your Adobe ID, and it will be ready to use.

You may download it now. Or, return to this webpage later and reenter your code to see the download link again.

Clicking on the download link downloads the executable file "CreativeCloudSet-Up". This appears to be an install of the Creative Cloud framework, which is not what is being requested at that time. The only way I finally got my serial number was after two days of contact with the online chat support function that was more an argument than support. I was finally able to extract my serial number from the support function after demonstrating to them that the site delivered the same results regardless of whether i used Chrome or IE and then convinced them that even though they could see my serial number, I could not in my account page (by providing them a text dump of the page. And finally convincing them that I was indeed signed into the correct Adobe ID (again by providing them a text dump on the page showing my email address that "My Account" was reporting back.

I am not sure if letting you all know will help the next poor soul that attempts to do a clean install of Photoshop CS6. Here's hoping that someone employed at Adobe sees this and takes a look.

If you signed up for a subscription, then you need to download the creative cloud app, install it, sign in, and download Photoshop (or Photoshop CC, or CC 2014).

If you didn't sign up for a subscription, then something is wrong.

That was my point. I did not sign up for a subscription. I bought the stand alone product at a retail outlet which is Photoshop CS6. (About $800) The subscription product is Photoshop CC6 (a monthly charge amount). The site attempted to get me to also acquire the Creative Cloud version rather than give me my serial number. I ended up in a 2 day 'duel' with the customer support chat line in order to, for all intents and purposes 'force' them to give me my serial number. I had to prove to them twice that the system did not work as their 'scripts' told them it worked. I found it intensely irritating that I was out $800 and having to fight the company to get them to allow me to use what I purchased.
