Premiere Elements 13 crashes regularly

I've recently purchased Adobe Premiere Elements 13 (software download card). It took more than 4 hours to download even though my wireless access was functioning at full capacity. Not sure why this should take so long??? I also have sufficient spare space on my C drive for this new software.

After download and install I was able to successfully create my new project and add media etc to the project. However as the project became larger PRE crashed. I restarted PRE and loaded the project I had been working on and it took at least 5 minutes to load. After more editing it crashed again. This same crash/extremely slow restart occurred multiple times until I was able to successfully publish the project to DVD.

My PC has Windows 7 operating system.

Is this a problem experienced by other Premiere Elements 13 users?

PLEEEEEEEAAAAASSSEEEEE Help! I found this looking for help with Premiere Elements 13 update: has slowed editing program down terribly, taking 10x longer per edit. I HATE EVEN USING IT even though I've used it since 3.0 and LOVED it. I just downloaded it a few days ago (it worked fine) & updated last night which is SLOW AND SLOWED MY PC DOWN. I'm in a time crunch, please help soon. Thanks so much (Windows 8.1), Cheryl

You received a reply five months ago (see above), but you never came back to answer the questions asked.

I replied then and asked where I could find a crash log... not something that's very clear for your average user. I didn't get an answer to that question.

I still have a problem with slowness and crashes but not a urgent need to use the software today although I would still like it fixed. Has there been any resolution in the last 5 months?

Well, there is no reply here from you until yesterday, so I'm not sure how you replied.

No, you still haven't answered the questions asked so someone can try to help figure out what is going wrong on your system.

On Windows you can find the crash details in the system event viewer, or the reliability reports.

Where is the rest of the report?

my adobe editing program crashes every ten minutes and it will not complete burning a dvd. It crashes before the DVd has finished burning. it's a fifty seven minute film. I tryied doing a test with a 5 min film and it burned it. Did a lot of work chromakeying etc now can't get a DVD. Their message that you can burn it in another program leads you no where. Bad program!
Anyone got a remedy?

Hi Yvette,

Sorry for the trouble.
If you are using Premiere Elements 13, did you try to burn an ISO?
- Try to Trim the project from the End of it.
- If you are on windows and using Premiere Elements 13. Go to Edit> Preferences > General. Uncheck the Intel Graphics Acceleration Box, Restart Premiere Elements.
- If you are using Menus, try to change the menu.

Please let us know if this works out.

Regards,
Sandeep

Don't know what ISO looks like but I could not find it. I looked everywhere. I finally uninstalled and reinstalled the program losing a few days editing. I also shortened the film by fifteen minutes (it is now only a 34 min. film.) It only shut down once during the process.I hope it can do an hour film without problems.
It seems to be working well now. the chromakeying is not as perfect as I could get in final cut. there are fewer ways to fine tune it. In all its a good program. I use an IMac.
I don't quite get the use of the in and out box that comes up each time you double click on the timeline. Just what is its function? The ability to resize the image is helpful but I wish elements offered a way to roll in the top bottom and sides individually. It gives you a chance to be more creative.
Thanks for your response.

Hello! I downloaded Premiere Elements 13 a few months ago from Adobe's website. The program worked fine at first, but currently it has been freezing and crashing when I do simple things like add titles or add new clips to a video. I am working on a particular video right now that is about 5 minutes long, and it crashes almost immediately when I open the project and try to make a change.

I have tried unchecking the graphics acceleration box, which seemed to help things for that day, but now it is crashing constantly again. How can I resolve this problem?

Thank you!
Sarah

I have the same crashing problems and have tried the same remedies recommended. Adobe needs to come clean, admit the program is buggy, and fix it. Then it would be nice if they would let owners know about an update. I used to love Adobe programs, but their customer service has become so horrible, I am ready to trash them all and go with a company that takes care of their customers in need.
