Adobe Premiere Elements 12 has a bug which causes a crashes when McAfee HIPS is installed. Does anyone know a good way to check the status of a bug reference number 3609537? It's impossible to get in touch with support at Adobe for this issue.

The Elements team was not able to reproduce the issue.
Did you contact McAfee about the problem with their firewall?

Hi Chris, McAfee is pointing us to their kb article which talks about a bug on Adobe's end. This issue is occurs without fail when McAfee HIPS 8 is installed on an endpoint and the firewall and IPS features are enabled. I'm not sure what type of environment Adobe used to test, but it sounds like they tested withou McAfee HIPS installed and enabled. My hope is that the development teams from both side could get together to resolve this issue. At the present each side seems to be blaming the other and meanwhile there is no resolution.

Chris,

How was the issue attempted at being replicated by chance? Was it with Hips installed?

As far as I know, we never were able to reproduce the error.
And I never got a response from anyone about a "known defect".

If an application is crashing due to HIPS, then McAfee needs to work with the product team to resolve what is going wrong with HIPS.
