Adobe LightRoom 6.x will hang on Splashscreen if offline photos are not available.

This worked fine in previous versions (I have been a LR user for 8 years - yikes).

I have so many photos, that I store lots of them on USB drives that are not connected when I pull my laptop out and use it as a laptop. In previous versions, LR would start up and i would see thumbnails of my offline photos. If I needed to edit them, I needed to reconnect the USB drive(s).

This problem happens in 6.0 and in 6.1.1.

The workaround, which is not really a workaround because it critically limits the usefulness of LR now, is to reconnect the USB drives and start LR.

Which OS version are you using?

It sounds like you're hanging on an OS call to access those USB drives...
