Patterns are still missing in the new lightroom, it's useless to me without patterns. Still wait for patterns to consider using the new lightroom. As well:
  1. Layers as competition allow
  2. Opacity on layers and pattern as competition allow
It's simple things, that highly qualified people at Adobe seem to don't see and still missing after all those years

Maybe you are thinking of Photoshop, which does have those features?

You want it to be Photoshop? I thought the whole point was to give photographer's an 'easy,' at least relatively pain-free non-destructive start on edits. Most edits can take a photographer's needs to completion. Those that can't, can be taken to Photoshop.

I don't think many photographers who still choose to use LR Classic would appreciate the addition of layers complicating their workflow. But if they do, then LR is about to become On1 Photo Raw, which is a combination LR and PS application that I'm sure most photographers already know about—and have switched to if that's what they prefer to the Photography Plan. Costs about the same.

No, it is things that you didn't know and you should not blame Adobe for lack of knowledge...
