Not sure why it stopped working, but all of a sudden I couldn't access Bridge CS from Photoshop CS5 on my laptop. I made do for six months by using the Bridge CC, but it wasn't linked right to PS. I searched everywhere and tried everything, but nothing solved the issue.

I finally decided to compare program files on my laptop to those on my desktop, where I have the same Adobe programs installed. I found a .dll file on my desktop that wasn't on my laptop. So I copied it, sent it via email to myself, opened it on my laptop and downloaded it in the same folder. Rebooted my laptop, opened Photoshop, clicked on the Bridge icon, and just got the spinning wheel. Tried it again, and it worked!! Bridge didn't actually open up in a window, but I saw the icon in the far right side of my taskbar. Clicked on it, the window opened, clicked on a .dng file, and it opened in Photoshop like normal. Then I closed Photoshop and reopened it, clicked on the BR icon, and it opened in a window like it used to. Whew!

C:/Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Adobe Bridge CS5/AXE8SharedExpat.dll

Because I searched everywhere and whatever discussions I did find were 3 to 4 years old, I wanted to share this in case it helps somebody else. I'm no techie, so this is all I know, lol.
