Bridge CC: Showing corrupt JPGs

I opened photos stored in a pen drive using Bridge CC on a Mac OS X 10.10. As I was viewing the thumbnails they became corrupted (I was not using Photoshop at the time). A horizontal line cut thought several photos, and distortion of colors occurred below the line. It seem to infect more files, so I ejected the pen drive.

Later, I reintroduced the pen drive, and the files seemed to be OK. But as I viewed the thumbnails the same problem occurred. When I opened a photo using Photoshop the file was corrupted.

These photos had not been modified previously. They came straight from a camera, to a Windows computer, to the pen drive, and on to my Mac.

I viewed the photos back in the Windows machine and the photos remain corrupted. So, it is not a problem with my graphics card, nor my computer.

What can I do to remedy this situation?

Thanks in advance.

Bridge was only reading the files, so couldn't have corrupted them (which would require writing to the files). It sounds like the initial thumbnail looked good, but the files are corrupted on disk or when transferring from the flash drive, so the full res preview shows the corruption.

Your files are damaged -- check the original source (camera, flash card, etc.) and see if you can copy them again.
