Photoshop: Adjustment layers and zoom reactions with KB shortcuts

Im noticing that when I have an adjustment layer selected, and I have just made some mask edits, that if i try to zoom in or out with the keyboard shortcuts, it just wont let me. I have to select the main image layer. Its not constant either... sometimes it works and sometimes it just doesn't. Has anyone else experienced this behavior?

Which application are you using?
Which version?
Which OS version?

I am using PS CC 14.1.1 x64 on Mac OS X 10.8.4

I happen to have renamer4mac, EasyFind, MS Outlook, Universal Type Client, Safari and Adium running.

Im not putting it past user error at this point, but im trying to take better notice of when it happens and what im doing if it does happen. I was just curious if others had experienced it as well.. kinda rule out the stupid human running the whole show aspect.

Update: It just happened to me again... and its when I use option, command with the + or - key to zoom while resizing the window. These are my preferences

And this is what i have selected when I try to zoom atm, an adjustment layer. Previously I had been zoomed in to make a change to the mask on the adjustment layer just below the selective color one.

Nothing new on this? It still does it. Working as intended or a bug or any changes to change this behavior?
