LIGHTROOM: Adjustment brush size adjustment/functionality needs work.

In Lightroom 4.4 (and 3), Mac OS X, when in develop module, using the adjustment brush, sometimes using [ & ] keys does not change size of brush, but changes rating. If I look in History, those changes are not shown, but if I hit Apple + Z, they can be undone, but then I have no idea how many steps I am undoing until the History kicks in when I go too far back. I have to physically click with mouse outside of effects panel to then go back & use keyboard to change size, then back to mouse to use tool.

Another annoying behavior is if changing adjustment brush size, unless cursor is over image, brush is invisible- so if I go from a horizontal image to a vertical image, and try to adjust brush, if it falls outside image area, I have to move cursor before I can see size change onscreen. So, I have to move from keyboard to mouse, then back to keyboard, before I can move to mouse (or pen) to paint with tool.

If say exposure amount box is selected, and I hit ], it increases rating, but if I hit Apple + Z, it won’t undo & I get warning beep. Same if slider is highlighted. This makes for a slow & inconsistent workflow.

Doing these adjustments in Bridge, using camera raw, is so much easier and quicker- to go from setting an adjustment strength to the next one is a simple tab, not 2 tabs like in Lightroom (unless of course a setting is not select, which then means tab hides panels- very annoying and time wasting). I can also change size at any point, using [ or ] keys- why can’t Lightroom be this easy?
