I can assure you that it is broken in CC2014. I just created an action with a curve using a preset and the action says default, not the preset.

Hi Jeff,

What is the Ps CC version (15.2.1?) and OS you see this on.

Hi Steve,

PS is 20141014.r.257 x64 running on 10.9.5

Hi Steve,

The preset is a red herring. It doesn't record the curve, preset or not. I just tried again and created the curve in the action but playback just gives a default curve.

Cheers,

Jeff

Hi Jeff–thanks for the additional info. It sounds like you are running into a different issue than the one noted here.

I need to look a bit more to see if the recording or playback failure is new or known with 15.2.1 (r.257).

Is it just the Curves Adjustment?

steve

Hi Jeff,

Yes, this is a known issue that we are investigating. It is different than the original topic. I'm going to see if I can fork off your reply to a new topic so we can track it separately.

There is a workaround. If you turn off Image Assets generation ( or Prefs.| Plug-Ins> Generator) and also close the Library panel, then quit and relaunch Ps the recording should pick up the adjustment layer change.

Hi Steve,

That fixed it, many thanks. Superb service! Generator was off in Plugins so I turned it on. Should I leave it that way now?

Cheers,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

You'll want to leave Generator off. It was likely the Library panel that was causing the problem but Generator can do it as well.

I have to check tomorrow, but I think the playback with the Library panel displayed should be ok, and it is only the recording that gets broken.

steve

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Photoshop: Action: Recording of changing values of adjustment layers will not wor....

Since 14.1 if I record an action the parameters / values of an adjustment layer will not recorded. I can change, name and all things how expected, but the recording of the values will not work. Are there a preference to change or something like this? My old actions works fine.

This should be fixed in the Photoshop CC (2015) update.
