PHTOSHOP CC 2015 - Adjustment Layer mask feathering isn't saved

History of events:

February 23rd:

I discovered Adobe CC Photoshop 2015 had an issue with the program

-I import my raw image

-Apply curve

-Feather curve

-Save both as PSD and JPG

-Image on PSD file and JPG appear with Hard and non-feathered Curve lines.

I report this issue to Photoshop Customer service, they suggest it was an update issue. I uninstall and reinstall...it still occurred. Customer service first suggested I reset preferences... (didn't work)
Then suggested I use Photoshop 2014... no feedback after.

I pay over a hundred dollars for old material? I didn't think that was fair... anyways. I waited.

March 4th:

I reinstalled 2015 and the black lines were still there.
-I message customer service, they recognized the issue (bug), and assured me that the problem would be fixed on the next update.

-The last update for adobe Photoshop was  in November... (at this point I am still paying)

-They recognized this was not my fault and gave me 30days extension.

30 days after I requested further extension since I was using an inferior product. They did not enable this. I am now upset.
Not only am I paying full price, I am paying for something less.

They referred me to a (higher team) that would respond to my inquiries about the problem...
A response came where I was told I was unable to get the extension... THE END.

What kind of service is that? I still have black lines on my JPGs and cannot produce prints on Adobe Photoshop 2015! I will not be satisfied using something outdated! What is the point of subscription if I don't get to use the newest software?!?

I have attached an image as an example, nothing special. There isn't suppose to be a hard line on my image, but every image i have saved with edits produces HARD LINES! *Note it is a PSD file, but the JPGs save and print the same!

Hi there
Never encountered this problem and can't trivially reproduce it -
anyways - the operations you perform are so basic that a simple workaround is possible.
However a few things to clear up first :
- There's no such thing as a "feathered curve" - you apply an adjustment layer and shape the  layer mask to your liking using various tools, perhaps including the parametric feather tool in the layer mask palette.
so - if there's indeed a bug it's closely linked to a set of very, very specific set of parameters and circumstances - which also means that there's probably a multitude of easy workarounds.
You need to supply THE EXACT procedure you follow - very detailed. Including - how do you get the image into Photoshop, bit depth, color space, acr version, photoshop version etc etc etc
describe the steps you follow in photoshop and describe the exact goal you are trying to achieve and I can easily provide a workaround.

Mike do you think you can get my subscription extended? You seem to have sort of pull on these forums... My comments have been morderated after you posted.

Thank you Mike, I will try to explain in the clearest way I can technically.

I have the most updated version of Photoshop;

I use the most updated version of Mac OSX;

I use a Canon 7D Mark II

I formatted my preferences to no avail.

The procedure is as follows.

(1) Put raw photo on desktop.

(2) Open Raw file using Camera Raw in Bridge

(3) Make Adjustments on Camera Raw

(4) Open Photoshop through Camera Raw

(5) I duplicate the background locked layer

(6) I use a selection tool to highlight the spot I want to create a mask

(7) I create a curve with the selected area

(8) I make my adjustments

(9) I change mask feathering

(10) I save as JPG and PSD

It shows up like the image.

I have done this multiple times in the past with no issues until February, when it was first noted.

I had the Adobe team remote control my computer on two separate occasions recognizing this problem.

I am interested in this work around.

I am sure you can understand my frustration as I have uninstalled and reinstalled on multiple occasions since February trying to resolve this issue, later to find that I will not be compensated for the inability to use the program as it is meant to be used in the most basic manner.

I'm sorry in advance if my frustration lead to an incoherent jargon in my initial posting. Feel free to ask me any information regarding my problem, and I will do my best to share.

I think Mike was being a bit condescending, Warren.  You are describing a known bug that will hopefully be fixed soon.  You can either turn off AutoSave for now, or you can do a "Stamp Visible" before saving.  Both should be workarounds.  I'm waiting for a fix too!

Thank you Cary, I noticed it, but chose not to address it initially. I know my problem, although I do not blame him for my inadequacy to describe it fully.

I will try your two workarounds. Thank you. I hope the issue is resolved as well.

I must add, it is feathering adjustment tool in the mask, that does not appear to translate in the final product, regardless of curve and whatever other adjustments I use.

The last Photoshop update was CC 2015.1.2 release in January.

Are you actually feathering the mask directly, or using the mask palette to add a feather?  If you are using the mask palette, turn off background save to avoid that issue.
